The NAB Education Committee met on October 31, 2025, during the NAB Mid-Year Meeting to continue its work supporting academic accreditation, educational quality, and the Healthcare Service Executive pipeline.

The committee reviewed annual academic accreditation reports and approved all submissions except for one. Several program-specific matters were addressed, including the University of Minnesota’s renewal application. Following discussion on internship requirements, catalog language, and the use of the NAB logo, the committee voted to recommend accreditation renewal.

The committee also acknowledged the planned sunset of Shawnee State University’s program in December 2025, which did not require an accreditation extension. Southern Adventist University was granted an accreditation extension through December 31, 2026, due to its program sunset timeline, with an annual report required in 2026.

The committee noted continued national interest in NAB academic accreditation, with several institutions currently exploring the process. Updates were also shared on improvements to accreditation resources, including revisions to the Academic Accreditation Self Assessment, Annual Report, and Accreditation Application. Revisions to the Site Visitor Manual are planned.

Additional discussion included members reviewing progress on a proposed Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Approval Program, with further discussion planned for early 2026.

The meeting concluded with an update on continued growth in HSE adoption nationwide, now nearing 31 states, and a shared commitment to strengthening academic quality and the future HSE workforce.
