The Member Relations and Outreach Committee met on October 30, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and opened with a review of the committee’s five strategic goals established in October 2024: increasing meeting attendance, promoting the Health Services Executive (HSE) credential, communicating the value of professional education, exploring the feasibility of a NAB app, and developing the NAB podcast. These goals served as a framework for discussion throughout the meeting.
A significant portion of the meeting focused on marketing and communications, where marketing analytics were shared, including social media performance across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as insights from email campaigns. The committee also evaluated the future of the NAB podcast. Given the high cost and limited reach of the podcast, a consensus was reached to pivot away from producing a regular NAB podcast and instead focus on a more targeted and efficient social media strategy.
The committee discussed opportunities to strengthen NAB’s social media presence by leveraging existing resources such as NAB Communities. Ideas included regular posts, webinars, newsletters, blog updates, and audience segmentation to better engage specific groups. After similar discussion around the feasibility of a standalone NAB app, the committee agreed that maximizing current platforms and tools would provide greater value than investing in a new app at this time.
The meeting concluded with forward-looking conversations, focusing on the importance of collaborating with national and state organizations to better communicate the value of professional education. Polling data highlighted strong engagement in state and regional meetings and national committees, reinforcing the role of NAB volunteers in the industry. The committee also explored strategies to engage professionals in Administrator Residency programs, including the development of a proposal to the NAB Foundation to support AR attendance at NAB meetings—an investment in the future leadership of the profession.
