Seattle Foundation Committee Advances Strategic Initiatives at June 2025 Meeting
The NAB Foundation Board convened on June 11, 2025, at the Hilton Motif in Seattle, Washington, to review strategic initiatives, funding proposals, and organizational updates. Chaired by Z Thomas, the meeting brought together board members and trustees both in person and via web conference.
Funding Proposals: The Foundation considered funding applications from various partners. The Foundation requested more information to be included in two of the proposals and voted to support the Virtual AIT Leadership Program by PositiveAge, the foundation arm of LeadingAge Virginia. The program will be a 12-month synchronous learning program for administrator residents/ AITs, which aims to train 30 future assisted living and nursing home administrators.
Governance and Financial Oversight: Updates to the foundation’s bylaws were shared, focusing on succession planning and committee structures. Treasurer Deborah Veley presented the 2024 audit report, which was unanimously accepted.
Looking Ahead: Strategic planning will be rolled into either the November 2025 or June 2026 meeting. The board also agreed to create a taskforce to develop a standard process for reviewing funding proposals.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude from both the President and Chair, and a motion to approve the consent agenda.
